Dangerous parking due to lack of lines

Reported via mobile in the Road lines / road markings category anonymously at 08:03, Sunday 12 June 2022

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later

The painted markings to show the parking spaces need repainting in the lay by opposite the library. These ensured that cars parked horizontally along the lay-by. Without these markings, drivers have taken it upon themselves to park diagonally making it an accident waiting to happen. Most of the vehicles do not fit this way, and are sticking out into the main road, making it difficult for large vehicles to navigate through. There have been many near misses of cars reversing out from this angle into oncoming traffic. It has also made it extremely difficult and dangerous for pedestrians to cross at the islands, as the vehicles are often blocking their view of oncoming traffic. Please can the lines be repainted to remind drivers to park horizontally in this lay-by.

  • Hi,

Your reply states that arrangements have been made to resolve the dangerous parking within 6-8 weeks, however this is now week 10 and nothing has been resolved and the dangerous parking and moronic reversing into oncoming traffic continues. I cannot see these proposed works you promise in your schedule of work; what is the hold up? It is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs as a result of this not being rectified with immediate effect.
