Opposite 12/13 Hastings Meadow

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 23:36, Tuesday 24 January 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later

The road is continually wet due to a blocked drain, I know somebody has reported something similar, however I was unhappy to see it closed saying it would be dealt with during annual inspection! . This is extremely urgent because every time the temp is below Zero it turns this part of the road into a dangerous ice rink. I watched somebody on Sunday do a complete 360 spin & end up facing the wrong way on the opposite verge. Luckily nobody was coming the other way otherwise it would have been a fatal collision. The rest of the road was dry so the driver didn’t realise the dangerous conditions near my house. If it’s not resolved soon, the next cold day we have there will be more casualties

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
