Utterly Unnecessary Congestion

At this junction is a set of temporary 3-way traffic lights which are currently completely unnecessary and created gridlock in Wendover during rush hours.
There is work in progress which is off the side of the Halton to Wendover carriageway. Unfortunately, the work (which is not on the road surface) is adjacent to a traffic island. On passing through the temporary lights today at approximately 1300, it was clear that no actual work was in progress, but the 3-way lights were already causing issues. During the return journey at about 1800, Wendover was in utter gridlock. The congestion was caused by the unnecessary temporary traffic lights forcing traffic to queue along South Street, Ellesborough Road and Aylesbury Road.
After a significant time going nowhere fast, it was clear that, if the barriers protecting the hole were moved onto the verge, traffic could be following in both sides of the traffic island. Furthermore, traffic can only flow 1 turn in 3 because the so called ‘traffic management’ company has elected to include Tring Road, a road that has almost no traffic movement, in the 1 in 3 cycle.
There is absolutely no need to include Tring Road in the traffic lights, as residents departing in the Wendover direction will just join traffic as they normally would, and residents departing in the Halton direction, will depart via the mini roundabout closer to Halton.
Whoever authorised these temporary lights needs some serious re-education in traffic management. Which ever company installed these lights needs taking to task for their ridiculous overzealous use of unnecessary lights. Whichever company is responsible for these works, needs to have their personnel instructed in how to leave works in a manner that does not inconvenience road users.
